Sodium p-aminosalicylate, also known as sodium 4-amino-2-hydroxybenzoate dihydrate or PAS-Na, is a widely used anti-tuberculosis medication. It appears as a white or off-white crystalline powder with no odor, and a taste that is both sweet and salty.

It is highly soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, but only sparingly soluble in acetone, and nearly insoluble in ether, chloroform, and benzene. The pH of a 2% aqueous solution ranges from 6.5 to 8. This solution is prone to decarbonation, which leads to the formation of m-aminophenol, so it is recommended to prepare the solution fresh when needed.
