PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Gentamicin sulfate is an aminoglycoside bactericidal antibiotic consisting of amino sugars and ligand molecules. As gentamicin’s sulfate derivative, it possesses an antimicrobial range comparable to kanamycin. This compound is primarily employed against systemic or localized infections induced by Gram-negative organisms including Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus species, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In ophthalmic applications, it treats conditions like conjunctivitis and keratitis.

For intestinal infections or preoperative bowel preparation in colorectal surgery, it can be administered orally. Additionally, when combined with metronidazole or clindamycin, it helps decrease postoperative infection risks in colon surgeries.
